Director bioAlfred (Al) Williams, I am retired from working in the Oil and Gas industry for over 40 years, last employed at Dril-Quip in Houston as the Manager of Subsea Control Systems. In that capacity I had employees working for me in Houston, Scotland and Singapore. With a job in this industry I traveled extensively to many of the world’s offshore Oil and Gas locations and lived in London and Norway in the 1980’s working on offshore projects. I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M and a Master of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Houston. Upon graduating I worked for The Boeing Company at the Clear Lake NASA office on the Apollo, Skylab and Shuttle programs before exiting to the Oil and Gas Industry. My wife and I are members of Foundry UMC Church and I currently serve on the Building Committee, Trustees Committee and as a Harvey Disaster Relief Co-Ordinator for the Jones Road campus. I do volunteer work at Cy-Hope’s Northwest headquarters, Hope Disaster Relief and have worked at Hope Chest where my wife also volunteers each week. My wife, Carleen, is a retired Cy-Fair Teacher, her last assignment was at Truitt Jr High. We have four children who all attended Cy Fair ISD schools. I have been a member of a number of organizations outside of work including President of the Sagemont Volunteer Fire Department, Board of Directors of the Sagemeadow Utility District, Board of Directors of the Offshore Technology Conference representing the IEEE and Technology Lead for the National Oceans Industry Association (NOIA).
