After-School ‘Hope Centers’

Our Hope Centers are welcoming after-school spaces designed to support and empower youth in under-resourced communities. Open to students ages 5 through 18 across Harris and Waller Counties, these centers provide enriching opportunities during the critical hours after school—when families are often working hard to provide for their children.

With a focus on academic support, hands-on learning, and relationship-building, our programs offer homework help, STEM activities, mentorship, and fun outlets like sports and creative arts. More than just a place to pass the time, Hope Centers nurture confidence, spark curiosity, and help students thrive in and out of the classroom.

Unique initiatives like Hope Nights (mentorship), the CREW reading program, and our Mobile STEM Bus with LEGO robotics and drones bring innovative learning experiences directly to students—fueling their interests and expanding their horizons. By investing in youth today, we’re helping shape tomorrow’s leaders, problem-solvers, and change-makers.

Literacy Enrichment

CREW (Center for Reading Enrichment and Writing) is a targeted literacy program for K–2nd grade students at our Hope Centers, designed to build strong foundations in reading, writing, and grammar.

Reading is the key that unlocks every other subject in school—and a world of possibilities beyond the classroom. CREW empowers young learners during these critical early years through engaging, hands-on lessons that spark curiosity and confidence. Using games, group activities, and positive reinforcement, CREW helps children strengthen their skills, discover the joy of reading, and believe in their ability to learn and succeed.

The Mobile STEM Bus

The Mobile STEM Bus brings hands-on learning and innovation directly to kids. Packed with LEGO Robotics and interactive activities, the bus transforms any space into a hub of creativity, problem-solving, and discovery.

Designed to spark curiosity and confidence in science, technology, engineering, and math, the Mobile STEM Bus is a free resource available for schools, churches, community events, and more. Because every child deserves the chance to explore their potential and dream big.
